Utah Fly Fishing Report, September 14

Great Early Fall Fly Fishing on Most Utah Rivers and Lakes

The fishing has been good to very good on the Middle Provo River with fish taking nymphs aggressively. A few caddis are hatching and terrestrials are still bringing a few fish up to the surface. Fished it today in fact. Landed about 20 + with a few really nice browns and one really big rainbow that escaped before landing it.

The Lower Provo River has been average, which, of course, would be considered good anywhere else. Most of the rafts and tubes of the Summer are gone and fish are eating the standard fare of sowbugs, baetis nymphs, an occasional caddis, and a few PMDs.

Eastern Utah rivers are hot right now with ample Tricos and a lot of big rising fish. Bryan and Jeff happened into these little guys this week on a quick evening outing after a guide trip.

The big reservoirs are starting to get really good with fish moving back into the shallows as both the air and water temperatures cool. The lake fishing should continue to improve with October being one of the very best months.

Come join us for some great Fall fly fishing!
