03 May Fly Fishing Lakes – Loch Style
A New/Old Way to Catch Trout in Lakes – A good friend, new member of Fly Fishing Team USA, and fellow Utah angler, Kurt Finlayson, recently had an article on Loch Style fly fishing published in American Angler. I consider myself lucky to have fished with and competed against Kurt several times over the years and can vouch for him. He knows his stuff. Loch Style fly fishing is a popular way to fish for trout on lakes and reservoirs in Europe and elsewhere around the world. However, for some reason most American fly fishers have been slow to catch on to this very effective technique that has been in practice for years across the Atlantic. Kurt is a great angler and his article is a great explanation of this effective way to fish for trout in lakes. I suggest that those looking for a new way to catch fish on lakes and reservoirs give it a read, page 38.
