Fly Fishing Deer

Bambi enjoys angling and, well, anglers apparently

A friend sent me this email. You know, one of “those” emails that make the rounds and at first I almost deleted it without looking. Luckily I looked and it was pretty cool. What I found were some amazing pictures of fly fishers getting up close with nature, actually a little too close if you ask me. So I just couldn’t help myself. I had to tell their story:

It started with a chance meeting at the water’s edge…

It was just innocent and fun at first. They fished together and talked about shared interests, like salt licks, jumping barbed wire fences, and alfalfa sprouts…

They were quickly becoming good friends…

Good Friends!

They got hungry and decided to go out for something they both enjoyed, oats rolled in honey, mmmmmmm…

Dinner was delicious, and, let’s be honest, pretty romantic…

They found out that there was some real chemistry, and it had nothing to do with his C’mere Deer cologne…

They wolfed down (too scary) gobbled the rest of dinner, said, “let’s get out of here,” and well, one thing led to another…

It was amazing! BUT, they both had this thought in the back of their minds, “this just isn’t going to work out.” Genetics aside, they both knew that that they lived in two different worlds. She was from the country, the other side of the tracks, and he was, well he was a person, and a carnivore at that. Besides, he seemed like a totally different person from the man she had met. So he got the boat ready to go and they shared a tearful goodbye…

They shared one last embrace…

And they will always have the memories of their special day at the gravel bar.
